Cornerstone Men’s Shelter

cornerstone imageCornerstone Community Outreach was founded in 1989 by the long-standing church mission, Jesus People USA Evangelical Covenant Church. With the assistance of the City of Chicago, CCO purchased and rehabilitated what is now the CCO Shelter.
The building accommodates a large kitchen and dining area, and a large dormitory for women and children. A one-million dollar renovation furnished us with the daycare center, the three intact families rooms, the adolescent boys dorm, new bathroom facilities with showers, the laundry room, and recreational facilities.
Over the following twenty years, CCO’s programs have expanded to serve nearly 500 men, women and children daily. With Cornerstone’s help these families and individuals can begin to build a new life, one step at a time.
CCO staff supervise an overnight shelter for 65 single men ages 18 to 80+ located one mile north of our main building at Epworth United Methodist Church. The men are offered a nutritious dinner and breakfast, bathroom facilities and showers. The men in this program are also able to access the daytime services available at Jireh House.
